Re: Death, Probabilities and the Future

Well, back in the old days it worked quite well. Nowadays, several things contribute to raise the amount of humans on the planet. Chiefly, technology. People are living to a much older average age than before in the developed world because of medical advances. Another factor is the general irresponsibility and almost total lack of control over creating new life. Even with contraceptives available for free, not to mention a general understanding of the population problem, human females still get pregnant 'accidentally'. In short, more people coming into the world and less going out means more people in total.

All is not lost though, humans are polluting their world to such an extent that the statistical likelihood is currently leaning towards massive problems (if not extinction) occurring before humans leave Earth.

The problem of lack of knowledge is especially obvious in computers, since they are now integrated into virtually everything and are extremely complicated. The problem is not that nobody knows, but that the 'users' don't know. As government and security agencies have discovered, it only takes a determined and resourceful hacker to infiltrate sensitive data, so you can imagine what might happen if somebody took enough control to launch nuclear weapons.

People do not usually consciously know when they are going to die, unless they themselves make it happen. The subconscious mind however is very powerful, and is often ahead of the conscious mind. It can see into the future probabilities, and when the soul is ready it sends a signal to the body and mind to terminate itself. Usually, this is misinterpreted by the conscious mind. The conscious mind thinks, "I'm too distracted to check both ways before I cross this road right now", while the subconscious mind thinks "Hello opportunity!".

The people who control their emotions successfully do not suppress them, but process them and understand them. They understand that they do not need to be attached to certain things and people, and so are not affected by what happens to them. Taken a step further, they understand that the world is one of many worlds, and that it does not matter what happens to it. Those who take it to the final conclusion experience what has been called enlightenment, knowing that nothing truly matters, because everything is one and the same.

The world may not change for the better anytime soon, but it is what most humans say they want. If this is more than simply what they have been taught to say, perhaps they could do something about it. People in power tend to only want to hold on to their power, and stuff everyone else. Perhaps you have the wrong people in power.

If someone knew exactly what they wanted, they would have it. That is the nature of the universe, and if one is very certain and specific about what they want, they will be in a time and place where they can experience it. This is true before they are born, and it is even true now. The difference now is, before you were born you knew this. It is all summed up simply, "you are where you are supposed to be".

Well, "the world" is only one of many such worlds, and many more will exist in the future. It is the fate of all worlds to be destroyed (or at least rendered uninhabitable), when the stars that support them die. Some species prolong the life of their world through various means, but even they will be destroyed in the end by the big crunch.

The reverse could certainly happen as well, all you can go on is what you want for immediate results. You can't predict the future by deciding on your clothes, but it does pay to be aware that even such small things can change the world. It's a nice feeling to smile at someone, and know that it has such an effect beyond the simple pleasant feeling the exchange causes. You smile, and the world changes, eliminating countless possible futures, and making countless others more likely. In simple terms, you can predict with far more certainty the immediate effect something will have, but life is too complicated for humans to go much further than that. All one can do therefore, is live for the immediate future, and hope for the best. A certain amount of long term planning and common sense is advised though. If everyone (or at least the majority) does that, you might find your world turns out better. You may find yourselves enjoying your personal lives more too.

If you had had sex with Damien, you might well still be together. But you would not have been true to yourself, and you would have felt a little guilty about it for years. All in all, you lost a cheat, which according to human societies general opinion is virtually no loss at all.

Rights and wrongs are for humans and species like them, but they are only ideas. They are simply concepts invented by societies because to not have them would mean anarchy. So people have to strike a balance between what they consider right and wrong, and what society does. Damien of course, did know about that rule. Fearing society's (and your own) wrath more than his own sense of right and wrong, he did what he wanted and lied about it. The question he had, was how to sate his desires and still maintain a positive image? Not to say he was 'right', but he subconsciously tried to strike a balance between himself and society and failed miserably. People have done worse jobs though, which is why society has prisons.

Don't worry, in your next life you'll be able to choose to remember nothing of this one. Something to look forward to.

Ha, now you know what I have to put up with, and I've known Camael for a very long time. Unfortunately you're right, angels tend to be obsessive with whatever they've chosen to devote themselves to. I'm no different, but maybe more human having a combination of compassion and perversity.

Well, when you were drunk you were quite upset at the time. Michael kept smiling at you in the infuriating compassionate way he does and asking you questions, basically encouraging you to talk. A lot of what you said was quite slurred, but you told us about Damien and kept using very rude words quite loudly, and got it off your chest. Once you got to the point where you were drunk enough to misinterpret some obviously human girl as a cow, and decided to make your objections to the cows presence heard, we decided to take you home before you got thrown out.

Creating your own life form is a matter of using advanced technology to design a genetic code and create a carrier, then when a few of the new species are born letting them grow. It is basically playing God, but God doesn't mind.

Love, light and medical experiments,

Gabriel
