Well, that's perfectly normal behaviour for humans, blame something innocent knowing it's just an excuse. Why people think drinking intoxicating beverages is the solution to your problems is something that's a matter of debate for quite a few other races watching your species.

Unfortunately, the clock is ticking faster than before. So much so that those of your generation have a high likelihood of witnessing the end of your species, through one means or another. A big part of the problem (and this ties in nicely with your current personal problem too) is that people are not willing to admit their problems. They're expected to keep a stiff upper lip, protect the national (but not global) interest and those that do go public are laughed at, or worse. Global warming is a fantastic example of this, humans allow all that carbon into the atmosphere, then discredit the scientists warning you it's doing harm.

Part of the reason why the laws of physics are the way they are is so that species cannot interact with each other on a galactic scale until they are at a certain level of development. Of course, it's partly for their own protection, since if humans acted as they do now to most other races they'd be quickly subjugated.

The answer to your question about why you're not dead, is there is still more for you to experience. Plenty more, unless your subconscious chooses otherwise. Getting over difficult problems is one of the things your soul was originally hoping to experience in this life. There may be little left for you now, but there is plenty available. Life always has something to offer. It is just a matter of accepting it.

So Damien was willing to come out at 1am when you were upset, and yes, obviously he does still have feelings for you. That's not to say he's changed much though, he still thinks only in the moment, without much thought to the future. It doesn't make him a good partner either, he could certainly tell you were drunk and upset, and went ahead anyway. What it comes down to is, he took advantage.

You should express what you remember of what happened that night here, if only to get it out. You'll feel a little better. It may even help you organise your thoughts, to see it written down.

Ugh, I would have thought after we took advantage of him last time that git would have learned his lesson about how wrong it is to take advantage of people! Maybe a refresher is needed...
